ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING MADDEN ROOM WEDNESDAY, JULY 27, 2011
SOUTH WINDSOR TOWN HALL TIME: 7:30P.M.
PRESENT: Vice-Chairperson Susan Burnham, Joseph Carino, Edwina Futtner, Linda Jeski, Dwight Johnson, James Murray, William Jodice and Joseph Kennedy
ABSENT: Chairperson Louise Neary, Mark Lillis, Alternates Gary Waterhouse and John Mitchell
- Call Meeting to Order: Vice-Chairperson Burnham called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.
- Roll Call: Commissioner Burnham read the roll call. There were no alternates present.
- Public Participation: None
- Approval of Minutes:
Minutes from Regular Meeting on 6/22/2011: Vice-Chairperson Burnham noticed the misspelling of Edwina Futtner in the attendance record. A motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Burnham and seconded by Commissioner Futtner to accept the minutes of June 22, 2011 with corrections and was unanimously approved. Motion passed.
CT Studios Update: None.
Report from Joseph Carino, Liaison-Water Pollution Control Authority: Commissioner Carino had nothing to report. The last meeting involved changes to sewer fees and the forecasting of money needed over time to stabilize sewer fees.
Report from Louise Neary and Sue Burnham-Discover South Windsor: Commissioner Burnham reported that the next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 28th at 11a.m. to be held at Fox Computers.
Report from Mark Lillis, Liaison-Joint EDC and Planning & Zoning Commission: Commissioner Kennedy, Commissioner Futtner and Mr. Stevenson were at the public hearing but the vote wasn’t taken.
- Communications and Remarks:
Remarks from Louise Neary, Chairperson: Chairperson Neary is currently hospitalized and wasn’t in attendance.
Report from Craig Stevenson, Economic Development Consultant: Mr. Stevenson was not in attendance.
- New Business: None.
- General Discussion: Commissioner Futtner mentioned that the Farmer’s Market next to Wood Memorial Library is very successful.
Commissioner members discussed the possible elimination of Mr. Stevenson’s contract as of September.
- Adjournment: A motion was made by Commissioner Johnson and seconded by Commissioner Jodice to adjourn at 7:41p.m. and was unanimously approved. Motion passed.
